Executive Meeting Held to Welcome ASEAN Community

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama on Monday (10/6) led an executive meeting to welcome the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Community event which falls on upcoming December 31.

This is a real effort of Jakarta Provincial Government in socializing the whole ranks about the ASEAN Community

Besides attended by some echelon I-II officials, the meeting was also attended by representatives from Foreign Affairs Ministry to discuss the readiness in welcoming the ASEAN Community event.

“The meeting was attended by Foreign Affairs Ministry Director General for ASEAN Cooperation, I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, to share information and presentation about ASEAN Community through question-answer session,” said Basuki.

City Ready to Face ASEAN Free Trade

With the attendance of Foreign Affairs Ministry Director General for ASEAN Cooperation, Basuki hoped it would arouse Jakarta Provincial Government ranks’ awareness over the ASEAN Community.

“This is a real effort of Jakarta Provincial Government in socializing the whole ranks about the ASEAN Community,” he stated.

In his presentation, I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja described the three pillars of ASEAN Community (Political-Security, Economic, and Socio-Cultural), ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), ASEAN Connectivity, challenges, opportunities, and also the benefits of ASEAN Community for Indonesia.
